The Pi Foundation also makes an official Raspberry Pi Touch Display, but it uses the DSI (display serial interface) port, present on the Raspberry Pi 3 but not the Zero, so that’s out. There are a variety of small HDMI displays available, including resistive touchscreens. HDMI Male to DVI-D Single Link Female Adapter. For use with an external DVI display, I purchased from Monoprice: Using an HDMI display is the obvious choice, since the Pi Zero has a mini HDMI connector (and the budget pack comes with a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter). The display is perhaps the most noticeable component in a laptop.
In the meantime, I used the long flat microUSB cable from my 8bitdo NES30, it coils up nicely within the box: Micro USB Cable for arduino with DUE R3 D1 mini NodeMcu V3 TP4056 18650 Board. It does require another cable, however, and I ran out (for some reason, I have a surplus of mini USB cables, but now those are obsoleted by micro USB, just my luck), headed to Aliexpress for some cheap micro USB cables (80¢ each, ordered several): The charging port is useful, since it can be powered from the original USB wall wart. With the hub adding four USB ports, I decided to use two of them for network interfaces, wired and wireless: Networking is crucial in any computer in the era of the Internet. To expand to four ports, picked up this little hub, the Monoprice Aquamini: With a USB on-the-go cable, converting to female USB-A, we can plug in one USB device.
